OK…let me start off by clearing some things up. If you missed my last entry, look below and find out why the website looks different and why some things aren’t working right or text looks weird.
And about World History Travis…The funny thing about it is that though I don’t heartily enjoy it, I do quite well in it. Just this chapter I’m on about the Renaissance in really hard. I’m much better at medieval times, and can even help people with crossword puzzles (How was your grade Adee?). It’s not that I don’t like history, just I don’t like this chapter very much. Too many names…And I’m using Bob Jones for everything except typing this year because I’m in what’s called the Academy of Home Education where my mom can send in my grades and they help with transcripts, etc. It’s like sending my grades to a high school (sort of). I get a diploma and class ring too. It’s pretty neat!
Now to the mission update: I (and my dad) are going to California next June with my youth group. We will be re-building houses in poor neighborhoods and evangelizing 2 hours south of LA. We will be there for almost two weeks. I have to admit that I’ve never flown on a plane before (but I really like planes), so I can’t wait to fly across the entire US! In the way of funds so far I haven’t done any fundraisers, so I am about $650 short. But I still have time, since we began to sell calendars and stuff at church, and some other people are giving money to help us all go. My goal for the trip is to talk to someone about Christ other than in the places set up for us to go, like at the airport or in LA. That would be awesome! I’ve also begun to try to set up time to work out since we’ll be doing a lot of manual labor on the job sites. I’ve also heard that the sleeping conditions aren’t the greatest during the time we’re working on houses, but it’s a mission trip, not a vacation. I’m praying all goes well, and that many are touched by our work out there.
Have a great day!
Tim
