Yes, it’s official. I truly didn’t know today was my blog’s birthday…but suddenly, on the same exact day as Smarthomeschool is the 1st anniversary of my blog. It’s been quite an adventure.
My first post was on sharing Christ with Muslims. That’s always been my goal and center during my blogging–Christ, and sharing the gospel with others. I really believe God has blessed me because of it. My first real post is really the most embarrasing I’ve ever written–it has so many spillling…I mean…spelling errors, that it’s hilarious to look at. And I don’t know if you can understand a word that I’m saying.
In the beginning, I relied heavily on Jake to get me through blogging. He’s always been there to help me with website problems, and formatting techniques, and I really appreciate him. He’s awesome at what he does.
Early on in my blogging career, I was an analyst. I posted first-hand accounts of exciting soccer games. And I posted on two seperate blogs.
My first post dealing with theology was Priest, Prophet, King. It was a school project, but I had worked hard on it. Then, right after that, I began taking on the culture as a 14-year-old kid.
Soon, after beginning to blog, I found Virtue Magazine, and began to write for them. My first bang in the blogosphere was a simple attack on tolerance–an attack that didn’t go over well with the politically correct. Still today, that’s one of my top posts of all time.
I started some other small bangs with some posts on tongues, and the gospel, but things quited down for awhile. But my site traffic had grown from 2 visits a day to almost 10!
I still kept writing about the culture, and about being sold out for Christ. I wrote about praying at every meal.
Then, on September 17th, 2004, Travis the Blogging Boy Scout made his debut in one of my posts. Since then, Travis, as well as Alex and Jake and I have become great friends. The fantastic foursome was born.

Travis gained my deep respect by his defense on his blog against a gay activist. I was amazed to see a young man defend his faith with respect, with humility, with strength, and with the Word of God. The activist couldn’t do anything against Travis’ knowledge of the Scriptures, and his deep-rooted faith–and his strength gained from battles on Age of Empires (well…perhaps that wasn’t part of it)
After that period of blogging, I went back to personal stuff, and only posted about my devotions every other day. But I kept hammering on tolerance and absolute truth.
I started a book back in January and I’m still working on it.
Time went on, and I changed the look of the blog at least 10 times, and it’s never stayed the same since…and neither have I. I’ve grown a lot. I’ve learned a lot too.
The next big thing that happened in my blogging career was Terri Schiavo. That time brings back a lot of memories of all the new bloggers I met as we worked together to try to save a woman’s life. I also was mentioned on Hugh Hewitt’s blog when I wrote a review of his book “Blog.”
After all of that, I was averaging a hundred hits a day.
The came politics. I live-blogged, and I attempted to be as good as Polipundit. But I’m still working on that. God keeps bringing me to a different place. For a time, I switched on and off blogging on politics.
Then I came to agenttimonline.com, and my site traffic began to grow rapidly. I was averaging 250, then 300, then 400. Things surged as I took on the Richard Abanes/Rick Warren war. I received exactly 175 comments on that post. Not bad if I do say so myself.
Then I went to Nashville. And the story plays out. I got on the radio, and now I’m averaging 800-900 visits along with 3500 hits daily. God has truly blessed me…way beyond what I deserve.

I could mention a lot of people who’ve helped me start, but I’ll miss too many. I know my parents have helped out a lot. I rely on my Grandma a lot for all my interesting links that I can write about. My blogging friends–guys, I can’t wait to meet you someday, whether in person or in heaven. Thanks for reading. Ya’all have changed my life more that I have yours.
I pray this blog has affected you in some small way–and has moved you to and pointed you to Christ–the solution to all problems, all sin, and all troubles.
So whether I fall or whether I rise to the top, I know God is there, and he’s going to continue leading me in the right direction.
