I had trouble closing my dresser drawers this afternoon. I pushed harder on the thick padding of shirts and pants. No movement. It was full – really, really full. I tossed the remaining pieces of clothing from the neatly folded laundry pile back onto my bed.
Now I must interject, it’s not that this dresser [...]

The Case Against Adolescence President McCain?

I hate to say it, but I’m with Joe on this one.

The Case Against Adolescence 3,100.

That’s right, 3,100 comments can be found on this blog. I’m closing in on 350,000 words as well found within almost 400 posts.

Praise God…

Two good things have happened. First of all, Kansas State Board Approved teaching standards skeptical of evolution. That’s good news in light of what I had been publishing about my own politcally correct state of Maryland.

The greatest news is found in Texas, where voters have approved a ban on same-sex marriage:

Texas voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, making their state the 19th to take that step. In Maine, however, voters rejected a conservative-backed proposal to repeal the state’s new gay-rights law.

The contest in Texas was lopsided; near-complete returns showed the gay-marriage ban supported by about 76 percent of voters. Like every other state except Massachusetts, Texas didn’t permit same-sex marriages previously, but the constitutional amendment was touted as an extra guard against future court rulings.

“Texans know that marriage is between a man and a woman, and children deserve both a mom and a dad. They don’t need a Ph.D. or a degree in anything else to teach them that,” said Kelly Shackelford, a leader Texans For Marriage, which favored the ban.

Gay-rights leaders were dismayed by the outcome, but vowed to continue a state-by-state battle for recognition of same-sex unions.

“The fight for fairness isn’t over, and we won’t give up,” said Joe Solmonese, president of the Human Rights Campaign. “These amendments are part of a long-standing effort by the extreme right to eliminate any legal recognition for gay people and our families.”

I can’t think of any better news to post on today. The fight still isn’t over, but we finally believe God lives in Texas.

Finally you’ll be able to [have your private marriage relationship], safe from the “threat” of gay marriage. Boy that was close, huh?

Now, is there any other odious minority group who we can work to deprive of rights they haven’t even won yet? Who can we work to ensure will remain second class citizens? Who would God deprive of their rights? Democrats?

Hoo-ah! It makes up a little for the loss of the governorship in VA! :)

  4. Matt A. Says:

Yeah, definetly SecDef. Good for Texas! :)

Yay for Texas and Maryland! Boo for California, and praticulary San Fransisco. SanFran has over-rode the second amendment by forbidding ownership of guns, possesien of guns, and sale of guns. The only people that can have guns are cops. Oh yeah, and Army recruiters are no longer allowed on campus.

Here in FL, they are now allowing the school boards to let the kids have their religious holidays instead of making us go to school on them. I almost lost Good Friday.

    fatyds,
As a Christian, I believe gay marriage is absolutely, %100 wrong. The basis of society is based on a man and a woman being married. It’s always been that way. When this is broken down, society will collapse. You can’t remove the basic building blocks.

Those who are gay are not second class citizens. They get the same rights as single citizens, but not as “married couples.” Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion (or lack thereof)…

    Bill,
No “yays” for Maryland. They’re going downhill (see the link in my post). But a huge “yay!” for Texas!

  8. Bill Says:

Oh, wrong state. Duhs to me! As a resident of the FL county doing away with… nevermind. They changed their minds and put Good Friday, Yom Kippur, and the monday after Easter back in the scheduled days off column as ‘non-student, not-teacher days’. So I guess the Yay from Maryland can be given to my county, and then we can give Maryland a Boo.

  9. Hannah Says:

I’m so glad that the ban passed! Praise God!

  10. Gabriel Bertilson Says:

    fatyds,

If you believe that because homosexuals are naturally attracted to their same sex we should allow them to pursue same-sex relationships, then do you also believe that we should prohibit them from raising children because they can not naturally produce them? If you believe that what is natural is right and what is unnatural is wrong, then I don’t see how you could argue otherwise.

  11. Tim Says:

Yay for us in Texas! lol I’m not texan by native (and would kinda like to leave whenever the Lord permits it), but I’m glad to have a part in what happens here. Thanks for the support! :)
