UPDATE: The two teens were found in Indiana today.
Lititz Police Chief William Seace told a news conference Monday morning that an Amber Alert for David G. Ludwig and the girl, Kara Beth Borden, believed to be his girlfriend, had been expanded beyond Pennsylvania.
Hours later, Seace said the two were spotted at a gas station near exit 173 of Interstate 80. The teens apparently had changed their appearances and a sandwich shop worker described Borden’s face as swollen, possibly indicating the girl had been crying.
“She is wearing a ponytail and she appeared to be crying,” and Ludwig “has cut his hair down to about one inch,” Seace said.
Extremely interesting. As for the commenter who asked about the homeschool group, I am not aware of that, but if anyone does find that out, please email me the info. I appreciate it. Pray for those involved.
I was reading the headlines this morning about the girl “abducted” after her “boyfriend” killed her parents in Lancaster County. What struck me is what Fox New reported about the relationship:
Sherman (a neighbor of the family) said the family knew the 18-year-old suspect through a home-schooling network. He said he had occasionally seen the teen at the Bordens’ home.
Stephanie Mannon, 16, said Ludwig and Kara Borden had been seeing each other secretly.
“Their parents didn’t approve of them being together” because of the age difference, she said. “It wasn’t because he was a shady character, because he wasn’t.”
Some kids are really just plain stupid when it comes to relationships, especially on the web. It reminds me of Spunky Jr.s post on “Are Xangas For Real?” It goes beyond the trashing of parents, and the gossip, to giving your information away to sick people who are out there reading your site.
I can’t emphasize enough the importance of internet safety. Be careful out there…it’s a dangerous world.

I know exactly what you mean about the internet being a dangerous place. From crackers to ‘fake’ people who make up huge stories to everything else on the internet, Christians need to watch their steps when online (and offline too!!)

What homeschool network was Fox referring to?
Does anyone know? Has anyone followed up on Fox?
What is the name of the Fox news reporter?
